The last month or so in pictures..... and a commitment !

So... here I am again sitting at the computer looking at my page thinking " why haven't I updated?" I honestly have no excuse, I guess I get caught up reading everyone else's interesting stories and by the time I'm done catching up on everyone else, my mommy time is up! So I am going to make this vow right here for all that reads our blog.... for the next 30 days I am going to post an update.... not because I think I have something interesting to share, but mainly so I can get into the routine to update family and friends (state side and across the ocean) how us "Edards" are doing. But because it's been more than a month since I've posted I think I'll post the most interesting pictures since Valentine's day.... so "WARNING" it'll be long.... enjoy !
Oh, and I'll be seeing you tomorrow....

Like I said before I have dear friends and family I would love to talk to everyday, but because a DAY is not long enough to talk to them like I should, I need the practice of updating this blog to keep everyone posted. So if you want to join me in this journey "all aboard" it starts today and for the next 30 ! Talk to you in 24! (Hours, that is )

Valentine's and a Rodeo...

I love Valentines... what isn't to love? It's a day to tell people how much you care and love them. With that being said, I am having so much more fun with it than I thought I would ....Riley had a cute party at her mother's day out program... so "we" just had to make some yummy goodies to send. I took pictures of the goodies that Riley took to all her classmates, but forgetful me didn't think to bring the camera to take some snap shoots of her having fun at the party.

Loves Sprinkles!

TaDa! The finished V-Day Happy!

That evening we were in Hattiesburg spending time with our families, we took Riley to the Forrest County Rodeo(?) I think that's what it was called... anyways. We had such a blast, this was Riley's second time to go, however last year she was a sick baby that did not enjoy it at all. Well, this year was different, she was feeling just fine and she had a great time!!! Joel's mom pulled out an outfit Joel wore alot when he was younger and it was perfect for our rodeo outing... a pair of suede chaps and vest! SOOOO CUTE!!! Riley wore them with pride! We had such a great time we can't wait till next year. We just might have to go to the Dixie Nationals- I mean since we live in Jackson and all.... hahaha!

I'm Back!!!

Yes, I'm out of hibernation!! I am so sorry for the long break...it's been a combination of a few things that has kept me from blogging, but I won't go into that now. So much to talk about...

First things first- RILEY'S POTTY TRAINED !!!!! Yippie! We are so proud of our little girl, and it happened so quickly. We started around Thanksgiving and now Riley's going on trips to Hattiesburg without pull-ups! It is such a financial relief not to have to buy $40 dollars worth of diapers every other week!! (Off to the make-up counters for me!!)
We now are embarking on the world of colors! Riley has learned alot from her toys here and there, but now we have flash cards and it won't be too long and she'll know them all. Her fav. right now are green and pink, she can point them out really well, and with Valentines day coming up she's loving all the PINK.
So, I have you up to date for 2009, now the future!!! Valentines day is coming up...(like in 4 days) and I still don't have anything for the hubby. Any suggestions? I've always done something handmade, but I am totally out of ideas!!! Now for Riley I have some really cute ideas that have become my ongoing projects for the last few days... I'll post some picks as soon as I have them done!!
Speaking of pictures, here are some from the last few weeks.... Enjoy!! And I'll blog soon:) Promise!

Santa says "HO HO HO"

I am so proud of Riley!!! We have been talking and preparing Riley for Santa since before Thanksgiving. Since last years melt-down with him at Bass-Pro, we decided we weren't going to surprise Riley with a visit to Santa, we were going to let her tell us when the time was right... Every chance that we have had we purposely walked by Santa, waved to him, went up to talk to him and showed her pictures of other little boys and girls with Santa. So, as we were walking in the mall today, I pointed Santa out to Riley, stopped to wave to him and to my amazement, Riley wanted out of her stroller to say "Ho Ho Ho" to him. So with out missing a beat, I grabbed her up, walked her up to Santa and at the same time told the photographer to be "ready".  She walked up to him with a smile on her face, said "hohoho" and let him put her in his lap!  She talked to him, touched his beard, and gazed out into the mall. We never got her to smile, but that was fine by me!!! I am just happy she saw Santa and was able to tell him what she wanted for Christmas!!!

Who says the elves are only in the North Pole?

Busy, busy, busy.... we are having a handcrafted Christmas here at the Edwards' Household. I am normally not one to "show off" my creations, however, I am extremely excited about the holiday decor we have crafted this year.
It was way overdue for a Tree makeover, so this was the year... we were given a tree last year as a gift, so what better time to buy new decorations and ornaments. I always loved the "fun" trees that were decorated with lime green, red, and glitter!!! So that was the theme we went for... Santa, glitter, lime green, red and Mr. Snowman!!! Along with the tree I decided that we needed new stockings, and a tree skirt... but I didn't want to pay the expensive price that goes along with new one's. So, I sewed them myself!!! Yes, you heard it- me- I did it!!! I am so proud of myself too, in the back of my head as I sewed, I thought "what am I going to do if it doesn't turn out the way I like, what if I have to try and find what I want" but to my astonishment it worked out. (with the help of my mother and mother-in-law) what would I do with out them!!!
So here are some pictures of the den all decorated for Santa!!!

Like I said before, I normally don't like to "Toot" my own horn, but I am just so excited about what I have crafted I just had to share. I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season, it is a time for family, friends and most of all FAITH ! I will have a little more time on my hands now that all the decor crafting is over, however now it's time for Christmas Shopping.... Wish me luck!
